Supervision for students seeking licensure (LMSW-C, LCPC-c)
Must be graduating from a master’s level program and eligible to sit for conditional licensing exam in the State of Maine.
I am a certified Mentalization Based Therapy Practitioner. I received my training through McLean Hospital and the Anna Freud Centre. My areas of expertise are Personality Disorder (specifically BPD, NPD, and OCPD), and systems of attachment. I also have interest and competency in the following areas and bring these into my supervisory practice:
- Sex Positive Inclusive Education
- Psychoanalysis and Social Justice
- Family Therapy
- Couples counseling
- Ethics
- Intersection of Social Work and Psychodynamic Theory/Practice
My approach to supervision is relational with an emphasis on mutuality, respect, and curiosity. We will navigate challenges such as transference/countertransference, psychoeducation, the mechanics of therapy, ethical dilemmas, and psychopathology. I approach supervision through a Constructionist Lens (Hair & O’Donoghue, 2009). This allows supervisor and supervisee to construct a dialogue that is both respectful, inclusive of different opinions/experiences, and open to challenge.
Twice Monthly Consultation for Licensed Clinicians (PsyD, PhD, LCSW, LCPC, PMHNP, MD)
- Must hold full licensure
- Must commit to 6 sessions
A word on Intersectionality: I am a Cis, White, Queer, Female-Identified social worker. I have been working in mental health in Maine since 2008. I have held multiple roles including Administrator, Case Manager, Case Management Supervisor, Psychotherapist, Clinical Coordinator, and Clinical Director. I am a survivor of sexual trauma, have experienced poverty, and have navigated sexism/discrimination in various environments. I acknowledge that while these experiences have shaped my practice and the lens with which I view social work, there are many additional experiences that I have not had that are important. I invite these to be explored and discussed within the supervisory relationship by way of mutuality, respect, and curiosity.
