At The Coastal Institute for Psychodynamic Training and Treatment LLC, we believe in reparative emotional experiences. Our counseling services are designed to help our clients repair family fractures and achieve goals.
We train new and established therapists to incorporate their intersectionality into their work, and draw on evidence based practices to address challenging mental health conditions. We have a vested interest in supporting the treatment community to address burnout and ethical challenges.
We offer a wide range of counseling services, including family therapy, couples counseling, parent coaching, and individual counseling/psychotherapy. Our services are tailored to meet the unique needs of each of our clients and families.
We also offer clinical supervision/consultation for conditionally and fully licensed therapists. Our psychodynamic trainings support therapists to effectively treat a myriad of challenging mental health diagnosis using evidenced-based practices.
I am a psychotherapist with over 15 years of experience working in mental health. I provide expert individual, family, couples, and group therapy. In addition to being an expert in the diagnosis and treatment of personality disorders, I also address disruptions in attachment, marital challenges, parenting issues, and trauma.
Seven years ago I began offering clinical supervision to conditionally licensed practitioners. I love supporting my colleagues to overcome the challenges inherent in this work. I utilize a person centered approach that focuses on evidenced-based practice as a means of addressing burnout and enhancing practice.
I am currently completing my Doctor of Social Work degree at the University of Pennsylvania. Much of my training in psychodynamic psychotherapy has come from McLean Hospital & the Anna Freud Centre. I am a certified Mentalization Based Therapy Practitioner.
Individual therapy sessions are 55 minutes in length, typically scheduled weekly or every two weeks. I will work with you to identify collaborative goals for treatment and discuss a path forward. Individual therapy can address transitional anxiety or situational depression up to major mental health concerns including personality disorder and attachment challenges. I utilize MBT, CBT, DBT and psychodynamic approaches for treatment.
Family therapy sessions are 55 minutes in length, typically scheduled weekly or every two weeks, depending on family availability. I am an expert in family therapy with adolescents/emerging adults with a focus on supporting individuation, boundaries, and communication. I draw from a structural family therapy frame to understand family dynamics and underlying patterns of behavior that may have caused fractures in the familial relationship.
Couples counseling sessions are 55 minutes in length, typically scheduled weekly or every two weeks. I spend time getting to know each couple and identifying collaborative goals. Using an attachment lens we learn what each person is brining into the relationship and how it is impacting intimacy, communication, and the longevity of the relationship.
Parent Coaching sessions are 60 minutes in length and scheduled on an as needed basis. Recurring appointments are recommended for parents managing challenging dynamics with their children. Coaching seeks to support parents in navigating the stress of parenting and providing a lifeline in times of challenge. I teach skills to support parents to address these challenges and offer a space to process the difficult emotions that can be evoked in parenting.
Executive Coaching sessions are 60 minutes in length and scheduled on an as needed basis. Recurring appointments are recommended for individuals going through personal crisis or navigating conflict in the workplace. Coaching seeks to support individuals to assess if their current professional trajectory aligns with their career goals. Topics of interest often include reducing "Imposter Syndrome", enhancing leadership skills, creating new career path/plans, preparing for the emotional challenges of retirement.
The Therapy Subscription includes 6 therapy sessions per month for $1000 for individual therapy and $1250 for Family/Couples therapy. These sessions can be schedule anytime throughout the month.
Sessions are priced as noted above and fees are due at the time of service. I accept all major credit cards, Venmo, and Square. I do not accept insurance but work with Reimbursify to identify your out-of-network benefits that can be used to cover part or all of session fees. I will also provide super bills which can be used to seek reimbursement from your insurance carrier. For any appointments canceled within 24 hours of the scheduled session, there will be an automatic fee of $100 applied to your account. Transparency in pricing is important. If you have any questions about billing, please reach out directly at info@thecoastalinstitute.org

My approach to supervision is relational with an emphasis on mutuality, respect, and curiosity. We will navigate challenges such as transference/countertransference, psychoeducation, the mechanics of therapy, ethical dilemmas, and psychopathology. I approach supervision through a Constructionist Lens (Hair & O’Donoghue, 2009). This allows supervisor and supervisee to construct a dialogue that is both respectful, inclusive of different opinions/experiences, and open to challenge. I am recognized as a clinical supervisor with the Maine State Board of Professional Licensure for social workers and clinical counselors.
Supervision Fee includes:
- Weekly 1 hour supervision
- Completion of required documentation to apply for board examination
- Support to prepare for examination as requested
- Supervisory support as needed for emergent or challenging clients
- Access to the UPenn online library (through Gwendolyne)
- Monthly group supervision with other conditionally licensed practitioners (when 3+ supervisees are available)
$150 per session
My approach to consultation is similar to how I approach supervision, I put an emphasis on mutuality, respect, and curiosity. I will seek to understand how your intersectionality informs your current work. Together we will explore your current level of burnout, how you are approaching the work, and any challenges you are having.
I intend to begin offering group supervision/consultation as the practice continues to grow. Look back here in the future for more information!
I am a member of the National Association of Therapeutic Schools & Programs, and the Maine Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers.
I also partner with Other Parents Like Me to support Parents and Families and with the Maine College of Health Professions for education and research.
